Alza vs Aruz: choosing a seven-seat Perodua

Seven seats are the beginning of the comparison

Alza is an MPV and Aruz is an SUV. Both provide seven seats, but the useful question is how those seats work for your household. A family that uses the third row every day will assess the layout differently from someone who only occasionally carries extra passengers.

If possible, bring the people who will use the back rows. Try getting in, sitting comfortably and getting out again. Check the driving position as well as the passenger seats.

Test the luggage space you will actually have

Compare the boot with every seat you need in use. Space shown with seats folded is not the space available while carrying seven people. Try your stroller, school bags or travel luggage instead of relying only on a photograph.

If you use a child seat, check its manufacturer’s instructions and the vehicle manual for the appropriate installation positions. Ask to see the relevant mounting points and make sure normal passenger access remains practical.

Separate equipment from body style

List the exact variants you are considering and check the current brochures. Safety, parking and convenience equipment can differ by variant. An SUV or MPV label does not tell you which features are fitted.

Ask for comparable Sarawak quotations that identify insurance and optional accessories. Review the cash price and financing assumptions separately so the comparison stays clear.

Arrange a useful viewing

Tell Chai whether you use all seven seats regularly and what you normally carry. Ask which Alza and Aruz variants are available to view, and confirm any test-drive arrangement before travelling to Jalan Tun Jugah.
